THE READING CARRIAGE SALE
The world famous Reading Carriage Sales have been in operation for over 40 years. There are now four sales annually in Reading with an additional one each summer in the Midlands.
Over the years, carriages, sets of harness, sundry accoutrements and anything related to the art of carriage driving have been bought and sold by clients around the globe. The sales provide an important meeting place for driving and equestrian enthusiasts, as well as for those looking to buy and sell their items.
In addition to the regular collective sales, Thimbleby & Shorland have been asked to conduct important dispersal or reduction sales on behalf of private clients, at their premises. In recent years there have been highly successful dispersal sales on behalf of Noel Abel, the National Gypsy Museum, the Foxhill Carriage Collection, the Malverleys Collection, the Vaux Brewery Stables, E W Gardner Collection and the world famous George Shaw Collection, to name but a few.
If you are contemplating buying or selling at Reading, or wish to hold a private sale, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be delighted to advise you, free of charge.
Even if you are not used to the auction system, our sales are educational and an experience in themselves, as nowhere else can such a wide array of carriages and driving items be seen under one roof.
