PAYMENT

All lots mut be paid for on the day of sale.

Our terms are strictly cash, bankers draft, direct debit card, credit card (2% premium), cheques if accompanied by a valid bankers card covering the amount of the cheque

If you cannot comply with the above payment terms please do not bid at this auction.

No clearance of goods will be allowed until payment has been made in full.

MONEY LAUNDERING

Under new regulations if you wish to pay in excess of £9,000 in cash, full identity must be proved. the auctioneers reserve the right not to accept cash above this limit.

BUYERS PREMIUM

A buyers premium of 11.75% including VAT on the premium will be payable on all lots at the Reading General Sales

VALUE ADDED TAX

All items consigned by VAT registered vendors are indicated by an asterisk (*) alongside the lot number(s) and VAT at the standard rate will be added to the purchasers account in respect of these lots. No VAT will be payable upon the items consigned by vendors who are not registered for VAT. Any known variation in the VAT status of vendors will be announced by the auctioneer at the time of sale.

VIEWING

Friday 12 noon to 4.30 pm, Saturday from 8am.

CLEARANCE

All lots remain at the risk of the purchaser from the fall of the hammer. ALL LOTS MUST BE PAID FOR ON THE DAY OF SALE. The market will be closed for clearance 1.5 hours after selling is over, approximately 2pm, but no later than 2.30pm. NO REMOVAL OF GOODS WILL BE ALLOWED UNTIL CHEQUES HAVE BEEN CLEARED UNLESS A BANKERS REFERENCE HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN RECEIVED.

DESCRIPTIONS

All lots have been described in the catalogue from information supplied by the vendors. The auctioneers accept no responsibility whatsoever for any misdescriptions, faults or deficiencies in any lot whether described in the catalogue or given orally either prior to or at the time of sale. Intending purchasers must satisfy themselves by inspection or otherwsie as to the correctness of any such statement. ALL LOTS ARE SOLD WITHOUT WARRANTY.

However, vendors may describe electrical goods as in 'good working order', such description to be at the vendor's own risk.

PROSPECTIVE PURCHASERS

Will be given the opportunity, whereever possible, to test computers and other similar office equipment on the day prior to sale between the hours of 2pm and 4pm. there will NOT be an opportunity to test equipment on the day of sale.

MOTOR VEHICLES

An immediate cash deposit of £200 (£100 on vehicles under £2,000) is payable at the fall of the hammer on the purchase of all motor vehicles.

ELECTRICAL GOODS

All DOMESTIC (household section only) electrical goods are tested for safety only and this should not be taken as any guarantee that they are in working order.

DISTRAINED GOODS

Lots entered by Order of H M Customs and Excise, County Courts, Inland Revenue, Liquidators or High Court Enforcement Offices may, under certain circumstances, be redeemed by the owners at any time prior to the actual sale of such lot(s). The auctioneers cannot be held responsible should this occur.

EXPORT PURCHASERS

Should ensure that they country of destination has no import or currency restrictions on the goods they wish to purchase. Our normal terms of business otherwise apply and payment is due in full on the day of sale. VAT will be charged in the normal way and refunded on proof of exportation unless within the EU on production of your VAT number.

PARKING

Would clients kindly note that the auctioneers have no control over the market car park. This, like the market, is owned by Reading Borough Council, who alone is responsible for the charges levied. regrettably space is limited and the auctioneers regret any inconvenience on busy sale days.

PROSPECTIVE BUYERS ARE REQUESTED TO REGISTER WITH THE AUCTIONEERS PRIOR TO SALE, WHEREUPON THEY WILL RECEIVE NUMBERED CARDS TO ASSIST BIDDING AND CASHIERING ARRANGEMENTS.
