Online bidding in the Saleroom from September
Following the success of the “One Amazing Lifetime’s Collection” sale on the 9th June, we have decided that we will introduce online bidding in the Saleroom from the September Antiques & General Sale onwards. We will be using the-saleroom.com as the bidding platform, as we have done previously.
Introducing online bidding means that the catalogue for the Saleroom will have to be ready a week earlier than at present, so goods for the Saleroom will be needed a minimum of 2 weeks before the sale. Cataloguing and photographing therefore will take place the week before the sale rather than the week of the sale.
Delivery of goods for the General Household section and the Machinery section should still happen on the Monday and Tuesday of sale week, as now. If goods for these sections are delivered along with items for the Saleroom then they will be stored until they can be laid out and catalogued.
On sale day in the Saleroom, as all lots will have been photographed, a photo of each lot together with its number will be projected onto a wall of the Saleroom.
We hope you will see this as a positive step to improving the service we provide for both buyers and sellers, and the quality of the lots we will be able to offer at future sales.
