PAYMENT: All lots must be paid for on the day of sale.
Our terms are CASH, DIRECT DEBIT CARDS, CREDIT CARDS (plus a premium of 2% plus VAT). Cheques will only be accepted from known customers, unless supported by an approved letter of reference from the purchasers’ bank.
For payment by Bank Transfer (BACS) our bankers are National Westminster Bank, sort code: 60:17:21, account number: 95544070, account name: Thimbleby & Shorland Clients’ Auction Account
No clearance of goods will be allowed until payment has been made in full.

MONEY LAUNDERING: In order to comply with money laundering regulations we will not accept payments in cash exceeding £9,000. Cash payments of over £4,000 must be accompanied by valid proof of identity ie passport/driving licence supported by 2 utility bills, bank statement or equivalent.

BUYERS’ PREMIUM: A buyer’s premium of 12% of the hammer price will be payable by all purchasers. There will be an additional charge of 1.2% of the hammer price of all lots purchased via the Internet.

VALUE ADDED TAX: All items consigned by VAT registered vendors are indicated by v alongside the lot numbers and VAT at the standard rate will be added to the Purchaser’s account in respect of these lots. No VAT will be payable upon the items consigned by unregistered vendors. Any known variation in the VAT status of vendors will be announced by the Auctioneers when selling.

DESCRIPTIONS: All lots have been described in the catalogue from information supplied by the Vendors. The Auctioneers accept no responsibility whatsoever for any misdescriptions, faults or deficiencies in any lot whether described in the catalogue or given orally either prior to or at the time of sale. Intending purchasers must satisfy themselves by inspection or otherwise as to the correctness of any such statement. ALL LOTS ARE SOLD WITHOUT WARRANTY and are sold for spares or repair, unless specifically stated in the catalogue as in good working order. Any complaints concerning goods sold in “good working order” (gwo) must be made within two days of sale date.

REMOVAL OF GOODS: Payment is due in full on the day of sale. All lots are at the risk of the purchaser from the fall of the hammer so should be removed as soon as possible thereafter and by Friday 15th September at the latest.

EXPORT PURCHASERS should ensure that the country of destination has no import or currency restrictions on the goods they wish to purchase. Our normal terms of business otherwise apply and payment is due in full on the day of sale. VAT will be charged in the normal way and refunded on proof of exportation unless within the EU on production of your VAT number.
