Lot 5 (1) - MARKET CART to suit 12 to 13 hh pony; in natural varnished wood on a yellow undercarriage. On 14-spoke Warner wheels with semielliptic springs and a cranked axle. It has a rear drop-down tailboard, hand brake and whip holder. One of the shafts has broken off but is still with the vehicle

Lot 7 (1) - HEAVY HORSE WAGONETTE painted green with red lining to suit a single heavy horse. The overall length of body is 11ft 6ins with leatherette rear seating for 5 passengers either side and another 2 next to the driver. On 12/14-spoke English pattern wheels with elliptic springs. There are shafts, but no provision for a pole
Lot 8 (1) - DENNETT GIG by McBride of Ballybay, to suit 14 to 15 hh; painted dark blue with yellow lining, supported on a yellow undercarriage with 14-spoke Warner wheels lined in dark blue, and Dennett springs. Buttoned leatherette seating, tilted mud guards, metal steps and lamp brackets
Lot 9 (1) - GIG built by Barker of Limerick to suit 14 hh; painted green with yellow lining, on a yellow painted undercarriage with green lining. On 14-spoke Warner wheels with green lining and semi-elliptic springs. Navy buttoned leatherette seating, mud guards, curved dash with rein rail, lamp brackets and metal steps
Lot 10 (1) - MEADOWBROOK CART to suit 16 hh; a relatively modern vehicle, possibly Amish, with hickory body, wheels and shafts in natural varnish finish. On 55ins wheels with elliptic springs and curved mud guards. Black leatherette seating, with one side lifting for access. Fitted with rein rail and whip holder
Lot 11 - SCANDINAVIAN SLEIGH finished in natural varnished wood with green/red paintwork, on red and black runners. Seats four passengers - two rows of forward facing seats, curved dash board and rein rail. Comes with shafts
Lot 12 - SULKY to suit 13.2 to 15 hh; metal frame painted red, synthetic bench seat and pneumatic tyres. Photo shows a duplicate Sulky in yellow
Lot 14 (1) - EXERCISE/BREAKING CART to suit 14.2 hh plus; fitted with two single seats with planked foot board, and a back step with high rails. On pneumatic wheels with blue metalwork lined in red, adjustable shafts and vinyl seating
Lot 15 (1) - ROUND BACK GIG to suit 14.2 to 15.2 hh; the body is painted green with matching shafts lined in yellow. On 14-spoke bright yellow English pattern wheels with fine lines, brass hub caps and Dennett springs. There is no driver’s cushion but it would have matched the beige corded back rest, and the outside of the round back is in a wicker-effect covering. A large boot can be found beneath the driver’s seat. Fitted with a rein rail, metal steps and fixed shafts. A nice vehicle in fair condition requiring some cosmetic work
Lot 16 (1) - MARATHON VEHICLE to suit 13 to 15 hh single or pair; painted blue with cream lining, on all round disc brakes, semi and full elliptic springs, driver’s wedge seat and back step all covered in blue synthetic
Lot 17 (1) - MILK FLOAT to suit up to 15 hh; an unrestored vehicle in natural varnished wood, fitted with curved mud guards and unusual fittings to secure the rear doors. On 14-spoke English pattern wheels and cranked axle. This vehicle has an unusual modification which enables a change of axle from wooden wheels to pneumatic wheels, second axle included
Lot 19 (1) - 3-PHASE COMPETITION VEHICLE to suit 13.3 to 15.2 hh pair; in burgundy and chrome with adjustable rear wheels, all-round disc brakes and delayed steering
Lot 21 (1) - BUTCHER’S CART to suit 14.2 to 15.2 hh; built by Atkinson & Davidson of Carlisle, in show condition, painted brown with yellow lining and sign written ‘Butcher & Grazier’ on the sides. On a yellow undercarriage with brown lining, 14-spoke Warner wheels with brass hub caps and transverse and semi-elliptic springs. There are air vents immediately under the driver’s seat, and above the rear door, on which is painted a bull’s head and sign written ‘Finest Beef, Quality Butcher, Est. 1890’. Fitted with lamp brackets, steps and grab handles
Lot 22 (1) - MINIATURE COSTER CART built circa 1910 to suit 9 to 10 hh pony; a sweet little cart with slatted sides and a drop-down tailboard all painted dark green and in good condition. Supported on English pattern wheels painted red with semi- elliptic springs and rubber tyres. With metal fitting, steps and fixed shafts
