metal steps and comes with a small wicker
spares basket. Measures 10ft long x 4ft
wide x 4ft 3ins high
Lot 4 - BUCCANEER COMPETITOR built by
Bennington of Long Bennington circa 2003
to suit 13 to 13.2hh. A smart vehicle
painted Brunswick green on 29½ins wheels
with disc brakes, extending axles and
adjustable balance. The driver’s wedge and
flat seats are upholstered in black
leatherette. Has a removable backstep and
spares basket. One owner from new,

Lot 5 - BUCCANEER COMPETITOR built by
Bennington of Long Bennington circa 1999
to suit 13.2 to 14hh. Finished in Brunswick
green on 33ins wheels with disc brakes,
extending axles and adjustable balance. The
marathon seat is upholstered in black
leatherette. Has a removable backstep and
spares basket. One owner from new,

Lot 7 - METAL-BODIED 3-WHEEL MILK PRAM,
fitted with handbrake. Internal metal rails. In
original condition with partial sign writing
Lot 8 - BAKER’S PUSH BIKE painted black with
metal front cage for a breadbasket and sign
written ‘Co-Operative Society Ltd.’
Lot 9 - MILK PRAM with open railed sides, on
metal shod wheels. With pram handle and a
small oval advertising sign back and front. In
original condition, for restoration.
Lot 11 - MILK PRAM with wooden body on 3 metal
shod wheels. In original condition, sign
written ‘Express Dairy’ .
Lot 12 - CARRY CART with a 17 gallon milk churn
with yellow painted frame on red painted
metal 8-spoke wheels.
Lot 13 - MILK PRAM with open railed sides and
pram handle. Painted burgundy with cream
lines to the wheels.
Lot 14 - TWO-WHEEL METAL COVERED DAIRY
CART on spoked wheels with iron treads.
Fitted with carry handles and caged doors to
the front. In original condition, for
restoration.
Lot 15 - EXERCISE CART to suit full size. Of
continental origin it is finished in dark green
with white lining. On pneumatic wheels with
disc brakes, and fitted with a whip holder,
reflectors, foot brake and adjustable shafts.
Lot 16 - EXERCISE CARRIAGE painted green and
approx. 15 years old to take full size pair.
Measures 9ft long x 4ft 5ins wide x 6ft high
Lot 17 - PONY DOG CART built by J. Petit, a good
quality provincial builder. Painted black with
a burgundy undercarriage. On 12/14-spoke
wheels measuring 29ins front/41ins rear,
with elliptic springs and brass hub caps,
60ins wide over the hubs. Fitted with a
49½ins dashboard, handbrake, lamp
brackets, whip holder, adjustable seat and
drop-down rear boot panel. A well-made
vehicle that has been barn stored.
Lot 18 - PONY GIG to suit 11 to 12hh. The body
and undercarriage are painted green with
yellow lining, with 12-spoke English pattern
wheels painted yellow with green lining on
semi-elliptic springs. The buttoned cushions
are upholstered in black vinyl and there is
storage beneath. Fitted with brass rein rail,
grab handles, lamp brackets and metal steps
and mud guards. The vehicle needs a little
work to be ready for showing
Lot 19 - BUCKET SEAT GIG by Brewster & Co.,
Broom St., NY circa 1914 to suit 14.2 to
15.2hh. Painted navy and yellow with black
lining. The driver’s and passenger’s seats are
separate and covered in black leather with
storage below and flanked by leathercovered
mudguards and a covered dash. On
Dennet springs with 49ins 16-spoke Warner
wheels, metal steps and fixed shafts. Fitted
with whip holder, lamp brackets and a pair of
black/brass carriage lamps with horseshoe
fronts. A very unusual Gig reputed to have
been made for Bertram Mills.
Lot 20 - AMERICAN SIDE-BAR BUGGY built by
Brewster & Co., Broome St., NY, USA circa
1900 to suit 14 to 15hh Hackneys; a
delicate and lightweight vehicle finished in
natural varnished wood with a single seat in
its original blue buttoned upholstery, and
covered dash. On perch undercarriage with
14-spoke English pattern Hickory wheels
measuring 45ins/48ins. There is a small
brass plate fixed to the rear seat engraved
with the maker’s name, a number under the
seat, 7153 and fixings to secure a hood (not
available) and a pair of shafts. In a sound,
unrestored condition.
