BUSINESS FOR SALE – Fenix Competition & Disabled Carriages

THIMBLEBY & SHORLAND ARE DELIGHTED TO PRESENT A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE ONE OF THE BEST & MOST ESTABLISHED BRAND NAMES IN MODERN CARRIAGE BUILDING

Mark Broadbent started Fenix Carriages in 1975.  As a successful competitor and experienced horseman himself, Mark identified a need for a new type of carriage that could withstand the rigours and different demands of the three phases of driving trials. The business has grown in response to the popularity of carriage driving and the Fenix brand has a reputation for excellence, customer service, longevity and innovation.  Alongside building modern vehicles, Mark has built many traditional type carriages and in recent years has restored some of the most famous historic carriages in the UK.  Due to the demands of the restoration business, Mark and Joanna have taken the difficult decision to offer for sale the modern carriage building side of Fenix.

The time demanded by the restoration side of the business, alongside busy teaching, judging and competition schedules, has meant that for the last few years the carriage building has not been marketed to the same extent as previously.  However, there is still significant demand for them, in particular the innovative ‘Fenix Freedom’, the four-wheeled vehicle which can accommodate a wheelchair.  Due to the shift in emphasis, Fenix have only produced a limited number of modern vehicles recently, but there is no doubt that with some marketing and a fresh approach there is tremendous potential to increase the manufacture of the Fenix range of carriages.

WHAT IS FOR SALE

The Fenix Competition & Disabled Carriages brand and name, plus any jigs, patterns, sketches, and components.  There are also some demonstration vehicles, which can be used for scales, patterns and models, and Mark and Joanna will offer ongoing advice and support to the purchaser.

The Fenix Competition & Disabled Carriages range includes well-known vehicles such as Fenix Falcon; Fenix Pony Flyer; Fenix Dressage Phaeton; and Fenix Freedom.
