Job Description
- The organising of our saleroom, dealing with the sale of Antiques, Furniture, Collectables, Books, Prints & Pictures, Jewellery, China & Glass.
- Checking in goods for sale and checking out goods that have been purchased.
- Preparing the saleroom for viewing and sales.
- Photography of Lots
- Dealing with uncollected items and unsold items
- Keeping saleroom clean and tidy
- Helping with other sales as required
- Collecting items, including furniture from customers
The role would suit someone with Saleroom Porter experience, but while that would be an advantage, a demonstrable knowledge of and interest in Antiques would be helpful. Inevitably it will be necessary to lift and move heavy items such as furniture.
Porters
Thimbleby & Shorland has exciting openings for part time Porters at their Great Knollys Street auctions, with opportunities to assist at sales away from site.
The role will involve manual labour as the porter will be involved with lifting and moving auction lots at each sale, in and out of the auction centre, checking receipts as assets are collected, dealing with customers & ensuring our high level of service at all times.
This role requires a strict attention to detail while working under pressure and will include some heavy lifting.
We are continually seeking additional porters for our auction centre.
