Auction Administrator

Central Reading

Salary: By negotiation. Overtime when appropriate
Hours: Flexible starting between 8.00 and 9.00 finishing between 4.00 and 5.00 Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday per month if required
Holidays: 20 working days per year, plus Bank Holidays

The role

Administering the sale of Seized Vehicles (currently bi-monthly) including:
Daily administration of disposals list
Dealing with any outstanding finance
Processing V5s
Creating sale on Newline and SAM
Creating sale e-shots
Post-sale updates

Production of Carriage Sale & Catalogues (currently 3 per annum) including:
Receiving sale entry forms and drafting catalogue
Entry of Vendors and lot descriptions into bespoke Auction System
Sending final catalogue to printers
Uploading photographs and catalogue to the-saleroom.com
Administering delivery of lots for sale
Administering the sale on sale day
Dealing with post-sale administration including collection of unsold lots
Checking Vendor information prior to post-sale pay out

Dealing with instructions from the Official Receiver including:
Contacting bankrupts re valuation and collection of assets
Arranging collection of assets
Arranging sale of assets by auction
Accounting to OR following sale

Assisting in the provision of auction administration at other “live” sales, including:
Registering buyers
Entering details of sold lots
Raising invoices and taking payment
Assisting in post-sale administration
Attending at off-site sales including nights away from home as necessary
Assisting in the production of catalogues for other sales as required

Key Skills

Organisation
Working in a team or on your own
Attention to detail
Confidence with IT systems
Calm under pressure and with customers
An equestrian knowledge would be helpful

Porters

Thimbleby & Shorland has exciting openings for part time Porters at their Great Knollys Street auctions, with opportunities to assist at sales away from site.
The role will involve manual labour as the porter will be involved with lifting and moving auction lots at each sale, in and out of the auction centre, checking receipts as assets are collected, dealing with customers & ensuring our high level of service at all times.
This role requires a strict attention to detail while working under pressure and will include some heavy lifting.
We are continually seeking additional porters for our auction centre.
